Has anybody ever wondered? Well, that's a exceedingly stupid nonsensical question isn't it? First of all, wondered
what you may ask, secondly, well of course I have from time to time about something or someone or some place.
Life does not seem as it should be or could be, well but at the same time, seems so explicitly simple, if you get down to it. You consume, defecate and lastly die, it
IS as simple as that, why do things like love, money, sex, power get in the way of all this? However, if you can even possibly fathom the possibility of life without any of the above shenanigans I mentioned, wouldn't it be just plain boring? So how do we or just me, manage a seemingly endless stream of nonsense gushing at us, which without it, would render us totally and utterly helpless. Water! Without it, you die. Too much of it, you ALSO die. That kinda sums up what life is doesn't it? I think, for all ends and purposes, this is the greatest and most overlooked cliche ever! Wow! All of a sudden I'm a genius! Thank you for your muted and sullen applause. Appreciate it!
Seriously, life goes by when we don't want it to (remember the last time you were having fun), but it is also frustratingly motionless when we want it to move on (i.e. the last time you were stuck at your desk). Can't these expectations blend in into a beautiful kaleidoscope for ALL the world to see? Instead of being two opposing ends of a magnet.
As subsets and also exclusive elements to life are love, money, sex and power. Simply because they cannot exist without life and vice versa, but on the other hand, doesn't take on a life of its own sometimes? L-O-V-E....the proverbial word that gets everybody into some kind of defecation, so deep, so slippery, so futile likened to climbing out of a wide, deep well. Why do you fall in love? Is it the thrill of being in it? Or do you relish the hurt that comes after it? Well most will almost immediately say that it is the thrill and sense of well-being they get when they're in it, but wait; is that what you are cheating yourself with or you really mean it?
Don't we all get so excited at a new relationship, but can't wait to get OUT of it before we even give it a chance to flower?
$$$....another element that is so compelling people kill for it. Sometimes I just want to go back in time and assasinate the person or collective group of people that invented MONEY. How peaceful and serene life would be when there isn't the endless pursuit of IT. Worse still, if you try to extrapolate the idea, you first try to get your hands on huge amounts of paper, with someone's face on it, and a couple of digits (intrinsically decorated, of course), but as you get vast amounts of it, you change it all to another piece of paper, this time with a logo and a few more numbers (not so well decorated). Food for thought.
ASS-EE-AXE.....one of the most powerful things in the world, which oddly enough, some love and some hate! Take for reference, Helen of Troy, the face that launched a THOUSAND ships! C'mon, was she really that good? Having said that, if used correctly and ingenuously, can be an awfully powerful tool. Why do some people hate it and some can't get enough of it? The answer is painfully obvious, it is the baring of your heart, soul, mind and body, which some are just not comfortable with. Can you imagine a reserved person enjoying sex? Does not make sense? I'm not talking about people that are reserved in new company or in a huge board meeting, but people with a reserved inner self. This inner self is something you only show to a select few in your life, but I firmly believe there are those that do not reveal this persona, and they actually carry it to their grave. These are the people that thoroughly HATE sex.
POWER! Even saying the word out loud makes you feel empowered, I CAN CONQUER THE WORLD! Yeah rite...But on a more serious note, what possesses a person to be so power-hungry? Have they already satisfied the other three complications/ necessities in life that they have nothing else to look forward to or they have utterly failed in their attempts therefore diverted their attention? Well, most will argue that a person that has too much money will then often get bored, thus concentrating all their focus on obtaining more power, is this a need for self-actualisation, or is this plain boredom? Personally, the merits of being human is this, we get bored all too easily, therefore we have progressed or evolved far beyond our cousins or other animals. When we get bored, we try to achieve something else. We as Homo Sapiens probably learned to walk BECAUSE it was a challenge, not so much as a necessity.
Lastly, LIFE is great, yet it is not. The key is to find your calling, which would satisfy you ultimately, but is that like searching for the Holy Grail, one might ask, well I don't have all the answers, I'm just a celebrity guest blogger. Decide what you want and go for it!
Carpe Diem!
